The Rt. Rev. George D. Young, III Bishop Young has under his pastoral and administrative care 45 parishes and five worshiping communities in East Tennessee and northern Georgia. The bishop's responsibilities are to visit each congregation, preaching, celebrating the Holy Eucharist and confirming individuals into the Episcopal Church in the apostolic tradition of the laying on of hands.
The Rev. Dr. Joel W. Huffstetler Rev. Huffstetler is a summa cum laude graduate of Elon College, and The School of Theology of the University of the South at Sewanee, where he was awarded his Master of Divinity degree in 1990, and Doctor of Ministry in 2006. He has also studied at The Chandler School of Theology, Emory University. His publications include Finding our Unity in the Scriptures: Reconciliation in the Anglican Communion, and Pilgrimage Towards Healing and Reconciliation: A Windsor Report Study Guide, as well as numerous articles and reviews.
The Rev. Deacon Art Bass Deacon Bass received his B.A. degree in English History from the University of the South at Sewanee in 1972 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1975. He is an EfM graduate and underwent eight years of diaconal formation and training in the Diocese of East Tennessee prior to his ordination at St. John's Cathedral in Knoxville on September 18, 1994.
In his secular vocation, Deacon Bass is a practicing attorney in Cleveland, Tennessee engaged in general trial work. Our Staff
